A Publix Experience

This is a sponsored post by General Mills. All opinions are my own.

My little man has turned 15 months old! I can hardly believe the words I am typing, as I think he should still be so much younger-crawling instead of walking, fumbling over his fingers rather than delicately picking things up. And, while he was here with us, he didn't really get to enjoy last summer. This summer though-he's playing in pools, swimming in lakes, and just enjoying the outdoors.

The other day, we were last minute invited to a friends house for some food and fun. Pinched for time, and not quite feeling like cooking something from scratch, we packed into the car and headed for Publix. While being gluten-free is very important to our family, we do recognize that most other people are not. Because we don't buy much processed food, my heart isn't sold on any one gluten-free brand, so I often like to play it safe and just bring regular food.

These Suddenly Pasta Salad's are so eye-catching and intriguing. I knew they'd be quick and simple, but delicious, so I opted to grab some.

This is SUCH a quick side-dish that I was able to whip-up as I did my makeup, sorted through the laundry, and chased my toddler around the house. All I had to do was boil the pasta, mix everything together with some oil, and BAM-ready to go.

The pasta salad was such a hit-it was gone immediately and, within minutes, we were asked if we'd brought a second box!

But, there is no way I can talk about this conveniently delicious salad without absolutely raving about my Publix experience.

We literally went shopping at the absolute worst time of day-the middle of the afternoon. The store was PACKED, everyone buying cook-out things for the long weekend. Thankfully, we were able to get our shopping done quickly, but were disappointed to find the lines at the registers backed up into some of the aisles.

Little A began to fuss, and I quietly tried to settle him by distracting him with my phone, when a Publix employee rushed over with a smile and began leading us to another register. Once there, I didn't have a chance to say a thing before she began emptying my cart onto the counter. I was so impressed, I couldn't stop thanking her. But, it didn't end there.

As we were checking out she, even though she was obviously very busy, made conversation with us about little A's age and what a hot day it was. We agreed and, were checked out before we knew it. As I turned to fight my way through the crowd of people, she grabbed our cart and asked us to lead her to the car.

At first, it was a little awkward because I didn't quite know what to do with myself, but big A grabbed hold of my hand and we sort of strolled through the parking lot together-directing her toward our car. It seems like such a small thing, but the service really was overwhelmingly helpful.

She helped big A pack everything into the car as I buckled little A into the car. Before he could even begin to get cranky, we were in the car and she was waving us off as she returned our cart.

Overall, best experience I've ever had in a grocery store, and I seriously hope this woman is thanked daily for her hard work and dedicated service.

This pasta salad comes in SO many different flavors, and will definitely be my go-to for my party dishes.
