I think the groundhog was actually right when it came to spring this year!
Yesterday, we were able to get out and take our first hike of the year-and it was a beautiful one. Spring is my absolute favorite, because the trees are still bare, so the views are spectacular. Not only that, but there was never a time during our hike when I got overly hot or sweaty. It was really nice.

Along with spring comes pollen. And, for people like big A, pollen is a nightmare.
He spends much of the springtime battling allergies, colds, and sinus infections. Over the years, we've really perfected a routine to avoid medicine most of the time. So, before reaching for that severe cold and flu medication, give these natural remedies a try!

1. Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
Sickness happens when your body is just too acidic! 1 tbs of ACV mixed with lemon juice and honey can help stabilize your pH, helping you get better, faster!

2. Elderberry Syrup
For centuries, elderberries have been used to fight colds, the flu, and infection. These berries naturally have antiviral properties, and also a delicious taste. This natural cold treatment is SO easy to make at home, and doesn't contain sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or other hidden ingredients.

3. Nasal Rinse
If you have nasal congestion, it is likely that your sinuses are clogged. This clog could potentially become infected, and turn into a sinus infections which are NO fun. NeilMed offers Neti Pots created specifically to help rinse your passages. Doing this helps prevent infection, and will also make you feel so much better.

4. Vitamin C
Vitamin C helps keep your immune system strong and healthy. Boosting up on this when you're sick may help your body fight the illness off faster.

5. Garlic
Garlic has been used to treat infection and illness for hundreds of years! This potent antifungal and antibacterial will really help your body kick butt! Because garlic loses potency when cooked, it's best to try and down 1-2 raw garlic cloves per day. I will usually mince it up extremely fine, and just swallow it down, to me it's not bad at all!!

I know many of you are fighting colds, congestion, and allergies yourselves, so I would love to help.
